Local Cultural Events
The Costa Rican Independence Day and the Creative Arts Festival are two of the main local cultural events celebrated at CRIA. Independence Day is held with invited local artists.
The values and traditions of Costa Rica are celebrated through typical dances and theatrical performances, delicious costa Rican food, music and games.
The Creative Arts Festival is held at a regional level and of the Guanacaste area. The event is planned with the Director of Culture, Vera Vargas, and usually performers are brought to the school sponsored by the Ministry of Culture.
In the past, we’ve had the privilege to experience plays from the Costa Rican National Theater, recitals by the National Dance Company and other famous independent theatrical shows. Furthermore, CRIA works with the Artistic Technical College of Liberia, which has held acting workshops at the school.
Local artists and artistic groups are often brought to campus. The money generated from these events is donated to local non-profit organizations, dedicated to helping children in need from the Guanacaste area.
