School Supplies List

2018-19

Below you’ll find a list of what students in each grade will need this year for their classes at Costa Rica International Academy.

We ask that students bring all of their supplies on their first day of school.

  • First through fifth grade students may keep their supplies in their classrooms
  • Sixth through 8th grade students will have a locker and will need to bring the appropriate supplies to each of their classes
  • Please also ensure that your children have access to school supplies at home in order to complete homework assignments (pencils, pens, markers, crayons, scissors, glue, etc.)

Toddler

  • Backpack*
  • Lunchbox/snack box*
  • Reusable water bottle*
  • Change of clothing (including socks and underwear)*
  • 1 yoga mat, 1 small pillow, and 1 blanket for naptime (in an individual bag, per child) for full day children*
  • 1 tooth brush and toothpaste for the full day child*
  • Diapers and a changing mat if needed*
  • Bottle of sunscreen*
  • Bottle of insect repellent*
  • 1 large t-shirt for painting*
  • 1 box of Ziploc bags
  • 1 package of finger paint
  • 1 bag of salt
  • 1 box of wet wipes
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 1 bottles of hand sanitizer

  • 5 glue sticks and one bottle of white glue

Grades 6-12

  • Laptop or convertible laptop (see BYOD Policy)
  • 1 math set (ruler, protractor, compass)
  • 6 spiral notebooks OR binder with paper and 6 sections
  • Supply of own pens, pencils, highlighter, sharpener, eraser and highlighter pens, glue stick, small scissors
  • 1 external USB (2GB or more)
  • Calculator – for Algebra 1 and above, student MUST have a TI-84 graphing calculator.  If in Grade 6-8 math (not including Algebra 1), a scientific calculator is required
  • 5 whiteboard markers
  • Lock for locker
  • Highly recommended – Kindle or other e-reader (much easier than reading on a computer)
  • Water bottle
  • Printer at home (CRIA does not provide printers for student use)
