STEM & Artificial Intelligence

Exploring. Designing. Achieving.

At Costa Rica International Academy (CRIA), innovation begins early.

Our STEM and AI programs empower students from Grade 2 through Grade 12 to explore, design, and achieve through hands-on learning that connects science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with creativity and real-world problem-solving.

CRIA integrates Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) across all grade levels, ensuring continuity and rigor in every stage of learning — from early coding and robotics in elementary school to advanced laboratory and college-level STEM courses in high school.

🧪 STEM in Action

  • Dedicated STEM Lab and qualified STEM educator for Grades 2–8
  • Two full science laboratories supporting middle and high school courses in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • Project learning through robotics, 3D printing, coding, and design technology
  • Integration of AI literacy and responsible technology use into digital learning across grade levels
  • Annual STEM and Innovation Exhibitions highlighting student projects and research

🚀 Capstone STEM Pathways

Our upper-level STEM program culminates in advanced, college-preparatory coursework, including:

  • Biology
  • Physics I
  • Environmental Science
  • Computer Science
  • Calculus AB
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Statistics

These courses challenge students to think critically, test ideas, and communicate solutions — building a foundation for success in STEM fields and university study worldwide.

🤖 AI Literacy and Digital Responsibility

As part of CRIA’s Middle States Accreditation focus on Artificial Intelligence, students learn to engage with emerging technologies ethically, creatively, and responsibly.

Through the Responsible AI Use Policy, students are guided to:

  • Use AI ethically – applying tools responsibly and transparently
  • Value originality – giving credit to human and digital sources
  • Protect academic integrity – ensuring honest and authentic work
  • Understand authorship – learning attribution in the digital age
  • Prepare for university standards – developing digital literacy and data ethics for future careers

AI instruction complements CRIA’s STEM framework by helping students not only use technology but also understand its impact — preparing them for the next generation of innovation and ethical leadership.

🌍 Why CRIA’s STEM & AI Program Stands Out

  • U.S.-accredited NGSS-aligned curriculum (K–12)
  • Fully equipped labs for experimentation and design
  • Integration of robotics, coding, and digital media
  • Emphasis on sustainability, ethics, and global problem-solving
  • Dedicated faculty fostering curiosity, resilience, and innovation

At CRIA, students don’t just learn science — they create, test, and lead with it.
